In memory for East Village legend, Jimmy Webb, Storm Ritter collaborated with musicians of the Lower East Side band, Bad Vacation and photographer Matt Aquino to launch a fundraiser in his honor. After Jimmy's passing in 2020, the collaborative team aimed to raise funds for his favorite non-profit. A large percentage of the proceeds was directly donated to Road Recovery. The program works with youth downtown Manhattan, creating safe spaces fueled with music and art. The fundraiser unified friends of Jimmy Webb, giving back in his name.
Storm implemented this collaboration and fundraiser to give back, as Jimmy was a huge supporter and influence during her Storm Ritter Studio brick-and-mortar from 2015-2019. She took the band's merchandise logo t-shirts and customized a select collection for an immediate online drop. A promotional photoshoot was held near Jimmy's store in the LES. The custom shirts and exclusive art print was featured online.
Jimmy was a pioneer of creativity and kindness. As the face of the punk retail store Trash & Vaudeville on St. Marks Street and iconic owner of the store I NEED MORE on Orchard Street, he made a massive impact on the community and youth in need of friendship. As of Summer 2024, Storm continues to get involved with Road Recovery, acting as a new arts mentor in the program.
