Costume Design: "Mean Girls" on Broadway & National Tour

As of July 2024, Storm continues to provide garments for the Mean Girls National Tour. Since 2017 at Storm Ritter Studio, she was hired to design costume pieces for the character "Janis Ian" for Mean Girls On Broadway. Storm's village street style aligned with the energy of the eccentric, rebellious character. The show opened in April 2018 at August Wilson Theater and closed in March 2020.

The garments are handmade in large quantities made of her original digitally-printed textiles. Other pieces were sourced locally, restructured, and hand painted. With Storm's history in theatrical scenic design at NYU Tisch School of the Arts as well as her costume design work at Saturday Night Live, the freelance designing job was ideal for the studio.

As the actors changed for the role, Storm became friends with the long-running Janis Ian, Mary Kate Morrissey who is now headlining as Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway. MK and her husband become gallery visitors and collectors of Storm's work with original paintings in their home and a custom leather jacket of her own.
